This is a specialty bean confectionery shop that represents Hakata. Founded in 1948, it has inherited traditional artisanal techniques passed down through generations, and has been delivering nostalgic, old-fashioned flavors as a bean confectionery specialty shop for over 60 years. For Setsubun, celebrations, joyous occasions, and memorial services, these high-quality bean confections are accompanied by heartfelt gratitude. They are also well-received as seasonal gifts.

Bangiyakashiho (FUKUOKA)

“Hakata Kenjo” is a beautiful confection that features Hakata-ori patterns on both its contents and packaging. Originally, “Hakata Kenjo” referred to a type of Hakata woven textile, named after the tradition in which the Kuroda Clan offered Hakata-ori to the shogunate during the Edo period. This confection expresses the local art of the region through sweets. The fragrant monaka wafers are embossed with “kenjo patterns” combining motifs such as dokko, hanazara, hishi, and kokojima. Between the two thinly sliced monaka wafers is a layer of sweet syrup. The browned wafer has a cinnamon flavor, while the white wafer has a ginger flavor—both offering a rich and wholesome taste.

Frais (FUKUOKA)

“FRAIS” is a community-based handmade bakery located in Nagao, Fukuoka. “Hakata Croissant Rusk” is a specialty product made by rolling French cassonade (red sugar) into the dough and baking it into a caramelized finish. It is a popular confection that has been featured many times on TV and in magazines in Fukuoka.
