“Mataichi no Shio Seienjo Kōbō Tottan” is a well-known sightseeing spot in Itoshima, Fukuoka. Located on the Itoshima Peninsula in western Fukuoka Prefecture, if you keep driving along the coastline on the western side of the peninsula, the paved road eventually turns into a gravel path, and as you continue along the bumpy road,
you will reach the salt workshop “Tottan” at the very tip of the western edge. The salt is produced in a place where the inner and outer seas of the Genkai-nada meet, and the rich minerals from both the mountains and the sea blend together.
